Question 1 of 7

The five swing types

  • Feature-rich multi-motion swing. Several motion paths and app or Bluetooth control, usually in the premium price tier.
  • Budget-friendly full-size swing. The essentials done well at a lower price tier.
  • Compact portable swing. A light frame that folds, for tight rooms and moving around the home.
  • Full-size plug-in swing. Mains power and a stable frame for a swing that stays set up.
  • Convertible swing. Converts to a stationary seat or bouncer, so it stays useful for longer.

The product shown with each result comes from our own reviews, with its main limitation stated next to it. It is a starting point for comparison, not the only option.

Swing Finder FAQ

How does the Swing Finder work?

You answer seven short questions about your baby's stage, your space, power, motion, price tier, features and overall priority. Each answer adds points to one or more of five swing types, and the type with the most points is your result. The result lists the answers that drove it.

Which swing types can it suggest?

Five types: a feature-rich multi-motion swing, a budget-friendly full-size swing, a compact portable swing, a full-size plug-in swing and a convertible swing. If your baby already sits up unassisted, it tells you a swing is probably not the right purchase.

Can the Swing Finder tell me which swing my baby will like?

No. It matches the preferences you enter to a type of swing. It cannot predict what an individual baby will like, and no swing is certain to soothe every baby.

Are baby swings safe for sleep?

No. A swing is not a safe sleep space. If your baby falls asleep in a swing, move them to a firm, flat sleep surface such as a crib or bassinet, stay close and use the harness every time.
